Online backup 'growing strong'

The uptake of data recovery solutions has continued apace in the last 12 months, according to new research.The Earth Times has reported that the annual data growth rate in the business sector has now reached in excess of 80 per cent, while global storage capacity grew to 281 billion gigabytes of information in 2007.
As a result, the newspaper noted that more and more businesses are now turning to online backup providers to ensure the safety of their company information.
Furthermore, the website claimed that many governments around the world are now making data security a higher priority than ever before given the recent spate of high-profile business failures taking place due to the ongoing effects of the global financial downturn.
Meanwhile, research carried out by Connect recently showed that 22 per cent of businesses in the UK now either use or plan to use an online backup solutions and that this figure has risen dramatically over the last year.
