Online backup 'better for business efficiency'

The uptake of online backup services have been advised for businesses looking to increase efficiencies in data management and disaster recovery.

Josh Catone wrote in his blog for SitePoint that the creation of online backups can be a tedious affair and has advised the use of automated backup systems in order to make life easier.

However, he noted that while online backup can be easier than physical storage, he stated that for extra peace of mind individuals should store their data in more than one place for greater security.

Meanwhile, Napsnet.com recently reported that Dave Rice, of Colorado, lost all of his valuable business data after the vehicle carrying all of his company PCs and backups was involved in an accident, caught fire and was destroyed.

Mr Rice has therefore advised all business owners to ensure their backups are kept - and transported - in separate offsite locations for better data security.
