Data archiving 'improves recovery rates'

Advanced data archiving can provide businesses with a more affordable and reliable data recovery solution, it has been claimed.Thomas Net News reported businesses could protect their critical information and files by investing in new data backup systems, as this could ensure they comply with new, more stringent compliance laws.
Mark Fowlie, chief executive officer of El Fresko Technologies, commented: "The regulations that businesses need to comply with may vary, but they all need to preserve data, safeguard it against tampering and corruption and prove its authenticity in a way that is irrefutable."
Elsewhere, Federal Computer Week recently reported businesses could boost their data security and reduce their need for data recovery by making data security training more relevant to their staff.
The publication noted that by tailoring training to topics people deal with in their day-to-day lives, it is more likely they will retain the information and understand the implications of poor security.
