CDP advice for firms

Businesses have been advised on some of the best methods for implementing continuous data protection (CDP) - a system that could dramatically improve many companies'
data recovery readiness.
Eweek reported backup and data recovery have often been treated as two separate entities. However, in order to minimise disruption to work during a crisis, it is important for companies to realise that the practices should go hand-in-hand.
As a result, businesses are being advised to invest in CDP, which enables firms to store sectors of information continuously, meaning files are backed up at all times, providing up to date backups in times of emergency.
The publication noted: "As data volumes have grown and dependence on data availability and fast recovery has increased, the limitations of tape media have become all too apparent."
Elsewhere, Tech News World recently reported companies should ensure they are using up to date data encryption methods to protect their confidential files or face the possibility of hackers stealing their data.
