Backup plans advised for business

Companies have been urged to prioritise the setting up of efficient
data management and backup procedures to protect their most sensitive information.
Bill Husted wrote in his blog for ajc.com that the digitalisation of data has led to improved performance for many organisations; however, along with this increase in productivity there has been a growth in associated risk.
He noted that in previous years much of a company's records were stored in a hard-copy format, with companies able to recover lost information from ledgers or folders in storage.
However, now that much of a business' data is stored electronically, any corruption or loss of this information can be hard to replace if a proper backup process is not in place.
Meanwhile, Steve Burrows, IT director of Vanilla Group, recently urged businesses to implement strong data backup procedures to help protect critical files against loss and corruption.
