"Whilst looking at refreshing the hardware platforms that run our MS Exchange email environment it was identified that not only should we replace the hardware but we needed to include a method of recovering individual mailboxes, messages, folders, calendar entries and the like from standard backup tapes.

We choose Ontrack PowerControls from Kroll Ontrack and it has proved itself to be invaluable already. It was very straight forward to install and intuitive and simple to configure and use. We purchased licenses for our 4 server (new) environment and all has been well until a user needed some folders restored from one of our old exchange servers we had decommissioned. This was quickly and efficiently resolved by Kroll Ontrack by use of a temporary free license we could use to get us out of a potentially tricky/costly situation. "I am a retired Police Officer, who at one stage was responsible for IT on a Divisional level and for giving first line support to over 300 users. I am always being asked about software I use or to support friends and neighbours with their IT problems.

About 10 years ago a friend of my son came to me in great distress. He thought he had backed up his University course work before formatting his hard drive for a new operating system installation.
